When you attack a base you can occupy it by clicking the attack and occupy increase of a successful attack. When you click this you can occupy the base or you lose. When you finis the attack the debris will be there and it is YOURS! you can Pillage the base daily and you will notice that you get less and less credits from the pillage over time.It occurs because the base is becoming useless from your Attacks and because you cant get the same amount of credits every pillage. When you abandon Occupation the base can grow and over time you can take it again and it will give you better credits but they wont last long.

When you occupy a base, 30% of it's economy goes to you! The base also suffers an additional 30% reduction to its construction and research ratings, and a 50% reduction to its production rating.
