Generally make the best production bases in the game, because of the high metal, high fertility and good area. They also make excellent all-round bases providing research capacity, economy and production. Though rare, it is a possible starting location for players.
There are Rocky Moons and Rocky Planets. Both have idential resources, except for area. The Rocky Planets, like all planets, are more expensive and time consuming to defend than the moons.
